Salima Stanley-Bhanji is an award winning filmmaker, lawyer, and CEO of Humainologie, a Calgary nonprofit whose work focuses on promoting empathy and inclusion through storytelling. While in Amman, Jordan on an international film project for Humainologie, Salima met Tarek.

Tarek is the Owner and Director of Bluerock Gallery in Black Diamond. He is a part-time student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce, learns ASL and plays guitar in his spare time. Tarek fled Syria in 2014. In 2017, he came to Canada as a refugee and now calls Turner Valley, Alberta home.
