Patti Pon, the President and CEO of Calgary’s major arts funding organisation, will share how Calgary Arts Development is working to support and encourage creative graduates to stay and live a creative life in Calgary.

Shaping the optimal conditions for the numerous creatives graduating from multiple post-secondary institutions, requires support across diverse art forms, for which Patti will highlight an array of approaches.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
As a veteran community and arts champion Patti Pon (she/her/hers) has an extensive track record of leadership and service in Calgary. Her expertise in resource development for the arts is reflected in both the growth of Calgary Arts Development and the receipt of significant awards.

Patti has been awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal as well as the 2013 Harry and Martha Cohen Award, recognizing her significant contributions to Calgary’s theatre community. Most recently, she was deeply honoured to be gifted the Blackfoot name of Miss’tommohtsaamiaakii—Two Standing Headdress Woman.
