Su Ying Strang of The New Gallery (TNG) discusses the artist-run centre’s organizational shifts since their relocation to Calgary Chinatown in 2013. Strang will highlight why “being a good neighbour” is a core value at TNG, and trace the ongoing development of the organization’s public programming post-move. The talk will posit the programming as a case study for community building through contemporary art, and aims to encourage reflection on how artists and cultural workers impact and connect with the communities in which they work and reside.

Su Ying Strang is Executive Director, The New Gallery, Calgary.
