Napoleon: Art, Money and War

Napoleon: Art, Money and War

May 9, 2026 – September 19, 2026

Exhibition Details

Napoleon: Art, Money and War examines how Napoleon Bonaparte built and projected power through material culture. Coins, medals, artworks, books, and official documents show how finance underpinned military ambition, and how visual language helped legitimize authority. Money funded war, medals rewarded service, and art shaped memory. Seen together, these objects reveal an empire constructed not only on the battlefield, but through systems of value, exchange, and representation.
